Description

The ancient colony of Cosa overlooking the sea a few kilometers from Orbetello memorializes with its monumental and panoramic remains the victor of Rome over Etruria. The Romanization of this territory is told in every single stone of the turreted walls, in the monumental remains of the Arx, in the paved square of the Forum, in its residential districts, in the traces left by the thriving port below and by the impressive drainage works with the fabulous names of Spacco della Regina and Tagliata Etrusca. A walk through history and nature, in the shade of olive trees and Mediterranean scrub, to rediscover a small but important city in the history of Etruria.
