Description
This experience combines the guided tour of the cellar, the tasting of a selection of four Fertuna wines (including Messiio) and a light lunch at our Amorvino Restaurant. The spirit of this proposal is centered on the union between food and wine to enhance this ancient bond that is so important here in Maremma. The Light Lunch, after the tasting, will be served at the restaurant and includes a two-course menu plus dessert (other drinks excluded) and a glass of wine among those tasted.
Tenuta Fertuna is a hyper-technological winery located in the middle of the vineyards and marks the design of this estate. This large villa in Maremman style lends itself to long stays and enjoys a dry and healthy microclimate with the sea just a few minutes away by car.
Fertuna is the materialization of the concept of a winery born out of nothing, not from previous plants, but from the instinctive perception that the place was the right one to create a new challenge in Maremma, the maturity project. In the heart of the Tuscan Maremma, the land that extends along the sea from Tuscany to Lazio between green hills of wild nature that make it crown and infinite spaces of light towards the Tyrrhenian Sea.
The place is simple and solitary, where the dominate note is given by nature, that of spontaneous vegetation and that on which human influence has cultivated an amphitheater of vineyards. This area, once the cradle of Etruscan and then Roman civilization with the presence of numerous necropolises, testifies that it has been recognized as an ideal place to live, work the land and progress, thanks to the wealth of its territorial positioning.
Fertuna overlooks about 1km of the "Ancient Via Aurelia" tracked by the Romans since the 3rd Century BC, a work that allowed ancient Rome to conquer and consolidate its domain. The name chosen is pure fantasy which characterizes the unique atmosphere that you breath here. You feel the sense of a place suspended in time and space, pervaded by magic.
This aura of mystery led to the name Fertuna which, broken down to its components, proves to be the bearer of concrete messages adhering to reality. First, the assonance with "fortuna" or luck, which in the etymological sense, refers to favorable configuration of a place. The root "fert" from the Latin "fertus" which means fertile.
About 50 hectares of the estate are dedicated to wine production with grape varietals selected to obtain high quality wines, with another 50 hectares of potential vineyard space.
About 5.5 hectares is dedicated to olive trees that sink their roots into the earth over time.
