Guided tour to discover the Vie Cave, ancient roads excavated by the Etruscans in the tuff rock and immersed in unspoiled nature. We will visit the Pitigliano underground, a unique opportunity that will allow us to discover the ancient popular traditions of the Giubbonai (the name of the inhabitants of Pitigliano), accompanied by a local expert.

Description

A tour for adventure and mystery lovers to discover the Vie Cave (also called "tagliate"), the ancient Etruscan paths dug in the open air in the tuff hills and immersed in unspoiled nature. The Vie Cave are a unique heritage in the world and walking through them offers extraordinary emotions: you enter the earth between cyclopean walls with a primordial charm that reach almost 25 meters high, encountering mysterious engravings, and incredible vegetation.

Our excursion will begin in Sovana, in the beautiful Piazza del Pretoria, and after a short tour of the town, we will embark on an exciting 2.5 km trek. We will cross valleys and green plateaus, ideal for a picnic break, up to the famous Via Cava di San Giuseppe, the longest and most suggestive road in the area, which will take us straight to Pitigliano.

But the adventure does not end there: an exclusive visit to the Pitigliano underground awaits us - a unique opportunity that will allow us to discover the ancient popular traditions of the Giubbonai, accompanied by a local expert.
